Redesigning the recipients experience

Smartbox is the creator of the gift box concept. They sell experiential gifts such as wine tasting, car racing or a nights stay in a luxury hotel. The french company operates in 10 countries with 7 well-known brands, headquartered in Dublin.

Smartbox wanted to improve their recipients' online experience in a bid to drive in a bid to drive more users online and increase engagement and ultimately to create upsell opportunities.


THE UX SOLUTION

The key user user tasks were brought to the foreground, such as allowing the user to register their box from the landing screen, as opposed to a previously much more complicated approach that involved several hurdles the user needed to overcome before registering

  • The UI was updated

  • The copy was reviewed and rewritten to be more benefit focused

  • New features were added, including allowing the user to browse all activities within the gift box, allowing users to book online, one step exchange and upsells.
