Designing the Talent Map tool for Workhuman
From 2010-2014 I was the UX design team lead for Workhuman (at the time called Globoforce). My role was to introduce UX to Workhuman product development team, by growing a UX team and introducing design thinking methods.
Annual performance reviews have long come under criticism for their infrequency and single viewpoint about employee performance. Workhuman wanted to revolutionise the industry and arcade staff management process by leveraging the data companies had on their employees through their award and recognition program to give managers the tools to give fairer and more insightful performance reviews.
The challenge was to design interactive tools that would display information to managers about who their top performers were as well as their top influencers as well as their social graph.
THE PROJECT RESULTS
Talent Maps became the industry’s first and only solution that connects employee recognition data with employee performance data. The new tool helps HR and business leaders more effectively manage their talent and culture by leveraging crowdsourced recognition and feedback. With this new level of insight, managers finally have the ongoing data to fill the void in traditional performance reviews.
